The episode of the meraglim in general is very discouraging and depressing. The point of salvation is the greatest foundation, foundation of foundations, בחירה חפשית. Despite all the circumstances that we confront there is always bechirah.

The shvatim from their position in the machaneh were close to negative influence and had no choice in this, nevertheless there was still bechirah. and the ones that were close to Moshe, despite the obvious positiveness of their position, still had bechirah.

The bechirah–use it every second for hatzlacha.
