The snake was a creature without a backbone; he had a philosophy to take each situation and deal with it as it comes, to twist and maneuver.  Adam was created with a backbone; to have a structure, a certain regimentation.  There are times when we must bend and manipulate our spine as symbolized in the lulav which represents the spine and we shake it and bend it.  The ben-adam must have a framework—derech eretz kadma laTorah.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Yaakov Avinu gives a unique bracha to his progeny, the heads of the shevatim, according to their unique qualities and character traits.  Every moment of our lives and existence has eternal significance.  Our greatest prayer for ourselves and blessing to others is that we should harness and make use of the G-d given unique qualities given to us to achieve the ultimate purpose for which we were placed on this earth.

Have a wonderful, fulfilling Shabbos.

The key to everything is to connect with Hashem, our Creator, and to commit ourselves to His Will.  This was the essence of the success and the significance of the Hashmonaim, this is the essence of the significance of Rosh Chodesh and the true secret of success of Yosef HaTzaddik.  Let us all cry to Hashem for the true fulfillment of this and to bring the ultimate of success for ourselves and blessings for ourselves and the Redemption for all Klal Yisroel.

A freilichen and fulfilling Chanukah, a Chodesh of bracha and a wonderful Shabbos

Vayishlach Yaakov—Yaakov sent actual angels, powerful, spiritual emisarries to deal with Esav.  This is the name and the theme of the parsha.  It is imperative for us to realize that even to this very day we have accessibility to this power through the auspices of fulfilling the Will of Hashem.  So pertinent.  So pertinent

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

After Eisav having gone astray, Yaakov had to bring to the surface the Eisav side that he had within him and assume the responsibility of the new role.  When he rolled the stone, having arrived at Charan, he was showing that he had that strength.  Likewise his working for Lavan all those years he exhibited this side.  Lavan was hoping to bring this out more by presenting him with Lea who was really meant for Eisav hoping that their offspring would manifest the wicked and the wrong.  Yaakov harnessed this power for the epitome of good and produced Klal Yisroel.

Until this very day we must harness these tendencies for good.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

In the episode of Eliezer’s endeavor to find a zivug for Yitzchok and thus the foundation of Klal Yisroel on one hand it appears smooth.  However, with greater observation one can observe the subtle attempts of Lavan to sabotage.  Such a significant message today to be sensitive to the subtle  destructive forces around us.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and a redeeming Chodesh.

Avraham Avinu, the founder of Klal Yisroel centered in fulfilling his true purpose of being in this world.  How much we must pray to Hashem for Divine assistance to be guided for the insight of the manifestation of the essence of the purpose of our coming into this world.  It is the greatest blessing we can give each other and it is the important tefilah we can ask Hashem for.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

49:12 Better is the white of your teeth, i.e., a smile, than milk.  There is nothing greater you can do for someone than smile.  The highest of priorities – relating to others in a positive way.  Top priority.

What a message, what a message.  Yehuda, my son, Yehuda the Jew.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.
