The point of yetzias Mitzrayim, that is the miracles of the 10 makos, is to internalize them to serve as the underlying motivation for our total commitment for serving Hashem.  Stemming from our gratitude to Him and recognizing His complete sovereignty over the universe and all its powers.  Make use of these sedros to be inspired.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

This week I will share something very deep with you.  6:28 the pasuk is relating something which in the simplicity of the text is not apparent.  Hashem communicated to Moshe Rabeinu something which in light of their oneness cannot be revealed.  The Mesilas Yesharim in the last chapter of the sefer revealed that a level can be reached that the tzaddik becomes one with Hashem.  The pasuk reveals this that we should know this and strive for it.

We should be worthy to see the redemption of Klal Yisroel bikarov.  Have a wonderful Shabbos and a redeeming month.

The most awesome, shocking issue of our sedra is that despite the life-saving contribution Klal Yisroel gave the Egyptians they imposed upon us a historically radical manifestation of extreme wicked slavery.

When we mistakenly admire the mentality and the way of life of the goyim the Divine plan causes them to deal with us in an irrational manner. How relevant this lesson is for all generations and especially for today.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Hashem spoke to Moshe before Rosh Chodesh relating to “what is going to be at night”; Rosh Chodesh after sunset.  He commanded then on Rosh Chodesh to command Klal Yisroel to take the lamb for the korban Pesach on the 10th of the month, to be slaughtered on the 14th to be eaten on the night of the 15th.  We have here five steps of preparation.  The obvious lesson is the supreme importance of preparation in order to make ourselves recipients of the spiritual gifts from Above.

Let’s take with us the simcha of Adar for the whole year.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and fulfilling month.

Chet HaAigel—Klal Yisroel understood the importance of and therefore yearned for a leader.  Hashem sends according to our realization; beg for leadership.

On Shabbos all our avoda of the week rises to the Shomayim.  The connection of the mitzvah of Mishloach Manos to the miracles of Purim was that the tefilos and fasting of Klal Yisroel; which was responsible for the miracle, was the reflection of the ahava for one another.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

The most outstanding, obvious lesson of the bigdei kehuna is the importance and emphasis of the avodas hachitzon, the outward service. This is despite the extreme emphasis in the avodas Hashem on the penimius. Nevertheless our “exterior” has its importance.

Amalek attacked us under extreme stress for no reason. (and we actually were victorious). Hashem commands us to destroy them when we are completely free of any stress or tension. What is the lesson?

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

In pasuk 4:16 “l’maan anasenu”—the mahn was given as a “test”.  Hashem could have sustained them in other ways.  Don’t “leave” over for tomorrow and don’t collect on Shabbos.  That is on erev Shabbos leave over for Shabbos.  The great test is the whole week don’t leave for tomorrow.  On erev Shabbos LEAVE  for tomorrow.  Don’t leave, do leave.  It ‘s all the will of Hashem.

Don’t make the action an end, only the Will of Hashem; don’t wear shatnez but on the bigdei kehuna and tzitzis wear shatnez.  Don’t kill and value human life, even Sdom; Amalek—kill them.  Only the Will of Hashem.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

These parshios of the miracles of the plagues and yetzias mitzrayim are meant for a constant source of inspiration as they were at the time they occurred.

The theme, the lesson and inspiration of most of the makos were movement;  the spurting of the blood, jumping of the frogs, the springing of the fleas, the devasting movement of hail and the most obvious movement of the locust.  Likewise Hashem commends Klal Yisroel for their “movement”.

12:12 The awesome significant korban Pesach is so called to commemorate Hashem”s “skipping” and “leaping” over the houses of Bnai Yisroel.  This was in the merit of Bnai Yisroel’s “skipping” and “jumping” (see Rashi) which we can say was inspired by the movement of the makos.

Have a wonderful inspiring, uplifting Shabbos.

What was the lesson of the staff turning into a snake that Moshe was commanded to demonstrate to Pharoh?  The staff symbolizes the erect spine which in turn is pride.  We work to make our spine flexible like a snake which is the crucial prerequisite to seeing and understanding the truth.  Arrogance is indeed blinding; understanding is not purely dependent on intellect.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and a month of fulfillment and redemption.

The Medrash (34:3) in our parsha relates that Hillel HaZakain expressed that serving breakfast to a guest at his home really meant serving himself.  He actually regarded his physical being and neshama as separate entities.  This is only possible by one’s awareness and absolute focus on his spiritual neshama.

This may explain how he reached the highest level of control with regard to anger that not only was the anger completely self-contained but nothing ever fazed him.  Also the ideal of never creating discomfort to another which he crystallized and fulfilled, was only made possible by the absolute focus on the neshama; this is “the” key for attaining true Ahavas Yisroel.

Truly, a timely topic for this period of sefiras haomer—a special time for growing in all our human relationships.

Have a wonderful and “warm” Shabbos.
