Shabbos Chol HaMoed Succos (5773)
by Mordechai Dolinsky

To crystallize the avodas hasuccos we would say that it is the realization of the love and the concern that HKB”H has for us. Shabbos is the intensive realization of Hashem’s constant control and input in the briah. Put them both together … it is difficult to verbalize the revelation that we have to relate to on this Shabbos.

All the brachos should come upon us and KLAL YISROEL.

Succos (5773)

The main goal and purpose of Yom tov is to connect with Hashem and to grow from the Yom Tov. Daven Shacharis with hislahavus, during the meals connect with the “L’maan yaidu doroseichem”, during the avoda of the 4 minim connect with thoughts of incorporating all our strength, harnessing them to the Ratzon HaShem.

Chag Sameach.

Parshas Vayeilech (5773)

Rashi explains that Hasem Himself relieved Moshe Rabeinu of his duties as leader of Klal Yisroel. The deep and awesome significance of this is that our leaders are chosen by Hashem as the original appointment of Moshe was in the desert at the incident of the burning bush. So it is to this very day the role of leadership has great ramifications to our whole avoda and the appointment of this position is made by Hashem through Hashgacha Pratis. It is an appropo subject this Shabbos, the first Shabbos of the year and before Yom Kippur, the foundation of Klal Yisroel.

We should cry to Hashem for His leadership; Klal Yisroel has only Hashem to depend on. Have a wonderful first Shabbos and a wonderful year.

Rosh Hashanah (5773)
by Mordechai Dolinsky

The avoda of Rosh HaShanah is the awesome responsibility that the Ribbono Shel Olam gave us; the input to change the din to rachamim. By the essence of the recognition that HaShem being the Melech has the effect of bringing bracha for ourselves and for Klal Yisroel. During the blowing of the shofar the sound of the first tekiah is the proclamation in the belief that HaShem is the Melech. The teruah is the reflection of our grief over the problems of our times; the massive forsaking of the Torah and HaShem, marriage problems including singles not finding mates and the shocking numbers of those stricken with illness and other tragedies. The second tekiah is again the sound of Malchus HaShem, this time with the optimism that Hashem will bring an end to the midas hadin and yeshuos to all.

Blessing to you all for a year of health, parnassa, nachas, sholom bayis, Torah and spiritual growth and simchas hachayim. We should all be mekabel pnei Masiach Tzidkeinu and see the kavod Shomayim restored.

“Atem Nitzavim” (29:19) – Rashi explains that Moshe brought Klal Yisroel before Hashem; just to contemplate the simplicity of these words – before Hashem – before Hashem. Moshe Rabeinu motivated Klal Yisroel to eradicate and dissipate the great barriers of the world of ‘metzius’, melt the materialism and connect with the reality of HaKadosh Baruch Hu. This is in essence our avoda of Rosh Hashanah.

Wishing you all a wonderful final Shabbos of the year which will connect into Rosh Hashanah of bracha and hatzlacha for all of Klal Yisroel.

Arami ovaid Avi—the dangers of Lavan are kept absolutely secret in the pasuk to teach us that Klal Yisroel is constantly subject to great danger, spiritual and physical, that is hidden. How meaningful this message is now, before Rosh Hashana, making a spiritual reckoning for the year and especially in these the dark, dangerous days before bias Mashiach.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.
