Parshas Tazria – Metzorah (5770)
by Mordechai Dolinsky

The tumah of tzoraas of the bayis is mentioned separately because it is a pure gift from Hashem as it brings with it the discovery of the treasures that were hidden within the secret confines of the house.  The other forms of tzoraas on the bodies and clothing is also a gift because everything from Hashem is a gift and for our benefit.  However there are certain gifts from Hashem that are openly and clearly apparent for our joy and pleasure.  How important it is for us to always recognize these special gifts from Hashem and to have the proper gratitude to Hashem that it deserves.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Shabbos Chol HaMoed Pesach (5770)
by Mordechai Dolinsky

The main point of our Yom Tov is to keep focused that every moment is potent with receiving a strengthening and a realization of the emunah and gratitude. Shabbos this is compounded since Shabbos is also related to yetzias mitzrayim and the foundations of emunah.

Receive and enjoy.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and Yom Tov.

Pesach (5770)

As we enter the Yom Tov of Pesach we focus on the main purpose and theme—the strengthening and renewal of the emunah; the belief in Hashem as King of the Universe and our supreme gratitude to Him for which we commit and submit ourselves to His Will.  The main time for this is at the seder and continues the rest of the night and afterward, the rest of Yom Tov.

We should all be zocheh to receive the utmost blessings of the emunah and gratitude.

Chag Kosher V’Sameach.

Parshas Tzav – Shabbos Ha Gadol (5770)
by Mordechai Dolinsky

The first Rashi the parsha explains that tzav is an expression of ziruz; for immediate and future generations.  This week in the course of the lail haseder we all resemble in a way the Kohain in his avoda in the Bais Hamikdash.  It is imperative that we prepare ourselves these days intensively for the awesome avoda of the seder night.

In light of the shocking turmoil of the current events these days it is imperative to strengthen ourselves in emuna and bitachon which is the true avoda of the days of this month of Nissan anyway.

Hashem should protect us and we should see the ultimate redemption.

Have a wonderful, meaningful Shabbos and Chag Kasher V’Sameach.

In the first Rashi of the parsha he relates of the negativity Hashem has when He connects to the gentile prophets.  As much as the Torah teaches the respect we must have for all members of the human race, we must keep a true perspective of the negative side of the goyim.

As we find in the Hagaddah—“Yachol may Rosh Chodesh”—the whole month of Nissan we must connect with the miracles of yetzias mitzrayim by studying the Hagaddah and reading the medrashim.

Have a wonderful, meaningful Shabbos.

It would be a valuable project to try to connect all the versified subjects in our parsha.  It starts with the counting of Klal Yisroel which symbolizes the extreme importance of every one which is based on the nefesh Elokus, the godliness which we all possess.  This is a key to almost all areas of avodas Hashem.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Parshas Tetzaveh-Zachor (5770)
By Mordechai Dolinsky

The Torah selects only certain holy objects to explain their purpose (28:35). The golden paamon and rimon on the bottom of the Kohain Gadol’s garment was to hear; the movement of the Kohain Gadol was heard. Perhaps it was not to suddenly come without warning and scare the people around him; bain adam l’chavero.

Rashi says the lesson of false weights connected to Parshas Zachor is that the punishment for being negligent in monetary affairs brings the attack of goyim. Again – bain adam l’chavero.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and Purim sameach.

The kruvim on the aron hakodesh were the holiest object in the world and in the holiest place. Their faces were youthful; the obvious lesson was the extreme importance of always remaining young. One should be always ready to have the flexibility of recognizing the possible mistake in his ideas and to welcome change to new ideas.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and days of increasing simcha.

Parshas Beshalach (5770)

An awesome lesson may be learned from the simplicity of the opening pasuk of our parsha.  Hashem had Klal Yisroel take the long way out of Mitzrayim so that in case they would be faced with dangers they would not be easily discouraged and possibly regret having left Mitzrayim.  This obviously was something that was a test which they had to stand up to.  The Divine wisdom placed them in the right position needed for the test to be “fair” for them; without having an over temptation to return.  We must always remember that this principle holds true for the tests that are presented to us.  Often we place ourselves in positions which make the test more difficult.

Have a meaningful Tu B’Shvat and a wonderful Shabbos.
