The matter of brochos where things are blessed and increased we see is of the highest priority since it was the first matter Hashem addressed to Avraham Avinu.

Avraham’s sole ideal and purpose was to spread the truth of Hashem.  We, the sole followers in his footsteps must always bear in mind that this is our most vital ideal and purpose, to spread the truth every opportunity and situation Hashem gives us.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Avraham Avinu, the founder of Klal Yisroel centered in fulfilling his true purpose of being in this world.  How much we must pray to Hashem for Divine assistance to be guided for the insight of the manifestation of the essence of the purpose of our coming into this world.  It is the greatest blessing we can give each other and it is the important tefilah we can ask Hashem for.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

All the main attributes of Avraham Avinu are role models for the essence of Klal Yisroel which he established.  Avraham HaIvri is on one side and the whole world is on the other.  Avraham Avinu the searcher of the truth is ready to repel and rebel against his surroundings and society.  How ready we must be for this mindset on so many issues to deserve to be part of the nation of Avraham’s great vision and which he created.

Have a wonderful remainder of the week!

Rashi in our sedra quotes an extremely significant Chazal, the extent of which might be misunderstood or overlooked.  (15:5) Rashi says that Hashem lifted Avraham above the stars, which means that he was no longer under the influence of the conventional order of this world.  Avraham and Sara in actuality of the order of the world could not have children together; Sara lacked the physical capability.   Hashem removed them from being subject to the order of the world, now under a unique, direct Divine influence.  Yitzchak, their son, and all his progeny is composed of a completely different fiber than all mankind.  So it is with everything concerning all aspects of his existence and that of the nation that emerged from him, Klal Yisroel—us, forever.   Yetzias Mitzrayim, existing in the desert for forty years, entering and living in Eretz Yisroel, and the Bais HaMikdash.  An example, abstaining from agricultural activities for the duration of the Shmittah year for all mankind would be comparable to absolute suicide on a national level.  For us it was an actuality of our life and existence.

Our unique source of existence is the root of the demands that the Torah places upon us and the responsibility of its fulfillment.  We should all have success in accomplishing this.

The importance of the power of bracha which Klal Yisroel possesses can be observed by its placement of priority in Hashem’s initial contact with Avraham Avinu (12:3).  Why then do we find many of our great leaders including the Chofetz Chayim “play down” and not be effusive in their willingness to give brachos.  The receiving of a bracha is really secondary to establishing our own personal contact and relationship with Hashem.  Perhaps our leaders wanted to demonstrate their objection to what they observed as a lack of requesting our needs from Hashem directly and thereby creating this all-important and crucial tie with our Creator.

Have a wonderful, fulfilling week with brachos and hatzlachos.

Lech Lecha; Hashem promises the fulfillment of the request will reap fruit for his own personal benefit.  Why does Hashem find it necessary to make this guaranty?  One explanation is that all the trials that Hashem presents to us are based on an in-depth knowledge of what presents for us a test.  Secondly, the realization that our source of all our materialistic needs must be fulfilled only from Hashem, is itself one of the greatest foundations of our faith.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Hashem is making His mark so obviously open in our times, yet there are so many opposing forces.  It is as important as ever to utilize the power and trait of Avraham Avinu within us to unyieldingly search and stand up and commit ourselves to the absolute truth.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Avraham Avinu the founder of Clal Yisroel and the personification of what we stand for had sensitivity for the contemporary spiritual needs and was not bound by conventionalism.  As a nation—stand for ideals of truth; as a Torah loyal group within the nation—be sensitive to the specific needs of the truth; and within the Torah loyal group—be sensitive to its special needs.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

It is imperative to understand and appreciate the miracle in our sedra Lech Lecha that Avraham and Sara had their long longed-for child.  It wasn’t through a cure of some medical problem, physically it was a complete impossibility for them to reproduce.  When you have self-awareness of your existence and you are looking around and see a fellow Jew, you are seeing a complete miracle.

Avraham earned this because he devoted himself to search for Hashem, emulate Hashem and spread universally his findings.  The nation Avraham and Sara produced was for this ideal and for this we are all here.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.
