How do we fulfill our obligation of proclaiming and relating to Hashem as a king as we are missing an image of real kingship as a role model. We are lacking the pomp and grandeur of royalty but we have the manifestation of true malchus seen through the Hashgacha Pratis in our lives. If one uses his capabilities of deep thinking he will see that this is the truest manifestation of kingship.

This, our last of the year, have a wonderful, meaningful, beautiful Shabbos, and a ksiva v’chasima tova.

Just as Chazal predicted as the galus progresses before the geula the darkness is compounded. The truth becomes more obscure and the true fulfillment of the Will of Hashem in regard to human relationships and our obligations to Hashem fall short. We yearn and search for the true fulfillment of the Will of Hashem. The key to achieve this is the name and theme of our parsha—Atem Nitzavim lifnei Hashem—to establish the realization that we are standing before Hashem will enlighten us to understand our true obligations to Him and make us understand the dimensions of our duties to our fellow man.

My Rebbe, Rav Miller zt”l always taught us that “all’s well that ends well”; this is the last Shabbos of the year and we should make it the best.

Have a wonderful ‘best’ Shabbos.

In our preparation for Rosh Hashanah we must work on feeling the malchus, the Kingdom of Hashem. Therefore the parsha is so outstandingly appropriate—Atem Nitzavim, you are all standing before Hashem.

It is imperative to devote time each day to generate this feeling within ourselves of having a true perception of the reality of the Kingdom and presence of Hashem. This will lead us to have a successful Rosh Hashana and a happy, prosperous year.

We are at the last lap before Rosh Hashana. The goal on Rosh Hashana is to relate to Hashem as the Sovereign King ruling over the entire universe. This in itself is a difficult task since Hashem is not tangible. Even more so, living in an era that we have no real manifestation of a true kingdom to relate to makes this seemingly impossible.

Perhaps the malchus of Hashem can be realized through the contemporary scientific discovery that all matter is just energy with no intrinsic significance. Shifting or removal of this energy can alter or remove anything and everything. This is the most realistic, actual insight and understanding of real malchus, that only Hashem’s “energy” is upholding and controlling the whole universe. This is most likely the true, inner meaning and explanation of how the pasuk that we say in Musaf Rosh Hashana in malchios “Shma Yisroel Hashem Elokainu Hashem Echad”—declares the kingdom of Hashem.

Rosh Hashana is the time everything can change and improve for the better and best. Through the medium of the shofar this is most efficiently accomplished. The sound of the tekiah is a majestic proclamation of the Kingdom of Hashem. The teruah, shvarim and shvarim-teruah are crying sounds, with which we should cry and appeal for redemption from the many tragic situations Clal Yisroel is going through.

Any “spare time” on Rosh Hashana should be used for Torah study which is our biggest zechus. Best wishes for a wonderful year in every way for all of you and all Clal Yisroel.

We reach the last lap of the year with our final week of preparation for Rosh HaShana. The opening words of the parsha are relevant and inspiring in an awesome way. “Atem Nitzavim HaYom ….. lifnei Hashem”.

Our main service on Rosh Hashana is to focus on the Kingdom of Hashem and the absolute submission to His rule. We are living in an era that the vision of the reality of the presence of Hashem in the world is hazy and foggy. “Atem nitzavim…lifnei….” Let’s use this week for the opportunity to lift this fog and to toil in getting ourselves to actually feel that we are standing before Hashem.

Rosh Hashana is the opportunity to bring correction, an absolute straightening and rectification for anything that needs salvation, for ourselves, our families, Clal Yisroel and the world. “Vayelech”—we shall go on and see this fulfillment.
